About St Joseph’s Hospice
St Joseph's Hospice is one of the oldest hospices in the country, our UK service opened in Thornton in 1974 and now each year we provide care and support to over 200 people with life limiting conditions from within the West Lancashire, Sefton, Liverpool and Knowsley areas. The hospice is set in 12 acres of tranquil woodland.
The hospice has 31 patient rooms, split across 3 units, providing high quality, end of life care. Our service helps create a home from home environment for our patients and provides ongoing support to their families. Clinical activity is supported by our in-house Non-Medical Prescriber nurses, a visiting GP and a local network of specialist clinical support.
At St Joseph’s we feel it is a privilege to have the opportunity to look after patients and families at the end of their lives.
