Ten fearless fundraisers have raised over £1,000 by abseiling 150ft down Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral to show their support for St. Joseph’s Hospice in Thornton.
The team included two members of staff from the hospice, including fundraiser, Laura Smith, and family support worker, Barbara Deus.
The pair wanted to take on the challenge in order to encourage others to push themselves in order to raise money for the charity.
Laura said: “St. Joseph’s Hospice is an amazing local charity and events like this are a great opportunity for local people to get involved and raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
“This is the second year we have organised an abseil down the cathedral and it’s an incredible experience. The view is amazing.
“It really pushed me outside my comfort zone but I just kept focussed on all the patients back at the hospice that I was doing it for as they face a challenge on an entirely different scale to this every single day.”
