Every single day, our nurses, carers, cleaners and cooks go the extra mile to care for our patients and their loved ones so, now, we’re asking could you go the Extra Mile for St Joseph’s Hospice.
Over the coming weeks, maybe months, all our lives will be a little different. As a small charity, our fundraising events are essential to the running of the hospice and, while we can’t hold events due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are likely to lose essential funds. However, there is one way you can help us to continue providing this vital care to our patients.
If you are stuck working at home or self- isolating, you could raise money and go the Extra Mile for St. Joseph’s Hospice.
How you can help…Each day, challenge yourself to walk (at least) a mile around your home or garden. This will keep you moving as well as alleviate boredom. All we ask you to do is register for our Extra Mile campaign by calling the hospice on 0151 932 6044 or emailing events@jospice.org.uk. When you register we will ask you to pledge how many miles you will walk and how much you are willing to raise or donate per mile.
You can join our St Joseph’s Extra Mile team and raise money through our JustGiving Extra Mile campaign.
Once your isolation period has ended, or you have returned to work, let us know how far you walked and send you donation to the hospice. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a digital certificate and will be put in to a prize draw to win a chocolate hamper!
Help us spread the word by sending us your videos or sharing them with us on our social media channels. Show us what you are doing and we’ll share it. Just use the hashtag #extramile.
