St. Joseph's Hospice is celebrating the forthcoming Hospice Care Week (3-9 October) by renaming its lottery the Hearts 4 Hospice draw for one week only and all Jospice shops are now selling tickets.
Hospice Care Week is an annual week of activity to raise the profile of hospice care across the UK and to help change people’s perceptions of hospice care.
This year’s theme, ‘Hospice Care is…’, will highlight every aspect of the extraordinary care that hospices provide, from the well known to the not often highlighted.
The St. Joseph’s Hospice ‘Hearts 4 Hospice’ lottery tickets are available to buy for just £1 from all nine Jospice shops, including Lord Street in Southport, Chapel Alley in Formby, Moor Lane in Crosby and Burscough Street in Ormskirk.
Penny Hamer, Director of Income Generation, said: “Who couldn’t do with a little extra cash at this time of year? With summer indulgences to pay for and Christmas just around the corner, a thousand pounds would perk most people up and give them a great reason to celebrate.
“We have some exciting activity planned to mark this year’s Hospice Care Week so keep your eyes pealed! Please visit one of our Jospice shops to buy some our of Hearts 4 Hospice draw tickets and show your support for your local hospice.
“St. Joseph’s Hospice is unique as we have patients who have been receiving one to one care for months and in some cases years. In fact, we care for over 200 patients and their families from across Liverpool, Sefton and West Lancashire every year, completely free of charge. We need to raise £6,500 every day to keep our services running and so your support is vital.”
The Hearts 4 Hospice draw will take place during Hospice Care Week on Friday 7th October and all proceeds will go directly to St. Joseph’s Hospice.
